SAFRA will welcome its seventh club in Choa Chu Kang in 2022. Expected to draw over 1.4 million visitors each year, SAFRA Choa Chu Kang will join SAFRA’s staple of six clubs in Jurong, Mount Faber, Punggol, Tampines, Toa Payoh and Yishun.
Designed with a theme of a “fitness oasis”, the club is just a five-minute walk from Choa Chu Kang MRT and LRT stations and is easily accessible to residents growing up in new towns such as Tengah, as well as the new Yew Tee integrated development. In keeping with SAFRA’s drive to promote sustainability, the new establishment has been designed with eco-friendly features such as energy-saving rooftop solar panels and spaces within that are architecturally oriented to maximise natural ventilation and sunlight to reduce energy consumption. There are also plans to harvest rainwater from rooftop collection points and store them for irrigation purposes.
The club will feature many firsts among SAFRA clubs. These include having the first sheltered swimming pool, an aqua gym, a sheltered futsal court and a sky running track. An indoor climbing facility will also feature an international 15m high speed climbing wall, lead climbing and bouldering walls, as well as 10m high walls with auto-belay devices providing over 40 climbing lanes across 1,000sqm of climbing surface.
One of its highlights is its Integrated Fitness and Wellness Hub, which spans almost 29,000sqft. It will house a spa, fitness studio and an EnergyOne gym where NSmen and their families can work out and exercise to various fitness programmes. The sky running track, which makes a 150m loop along the fourth level, will also be an ideal space for NSmen on circuit training. Those with young families can also look forward to a new indoor trampoline park with fun-filled trampoline aerobics programmes for both adults and children.
